The 3rd and final (Whew!) part in the series on how to paint the background of your silk. More instruction for the Moroccan Summer Wallhanging. This is a demonstration of the top section.

Moroccan Summer Painted Silk Wallhanging

What equipment will I need?

       Silk painting pattern.
        Tape to stick the pattern to the silk.

       Silk Fabric. Try Habotai or Pongee. (minimum amount required 80cm x 157cm)
       Frame For stretching the fabric.
       Pins to fasten silk to frame.
       Paintbrushes.
       A tube of silver resist with attached nib. (Silk Outliner or Gutta)
       A tube of copper resist with attached nib. (Silk Outliner or Gutta)
       A tube of copper resist with attached nib. (Silk Outliner or Gutta)
       Up to 6 different coloured silk dyes.
       Blue, yellow, orange, red and purple silk dye for the background.
       Coarse grain salt.
       Water.
